Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has backed the club to return to the top after an underwhelming season. City were expected to perform better particularly with the employment of Pep Guardiola last summer.
Whilst Man City are poised to make the top four in the league this term, losses in the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Champions League have thrown them open to criticisms. Kompany says the team is still adjusting to Guardiola’s approach.
Gabriel Jesus returned from his unfortunate injury to help the Citizens get a 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough on Sunday. They remain a point above Manchester United who are in fifth place as the Red Devils also played a draw with Swansea.
“You can’t compare Barcelona and Bayern Munich to Manchester City. Guardiola has come to City with a very unique style. And he wants to continue that philosophy. We had to work to adapt to his style.
