Athletic Madrid’s is eager on regaining the La Liga title

On May of 2014, Diego Simeone and his squad shocked the world of football as they snatched the Spanish League title and took it away from Real Madrid as well as Barcelona. This was a huge accomplishment taking into consideration that Lionel Messi and C.Ronaldo were the players who were expected to lead their respective teams to success but it was Athletic Madrid which managed to arrive and snatch it up.

Athletic Madrid lifted the Spanish League title during the 2013-14 by having 3 more points than their rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona in what was a very exciting and thrilling season which concluded with Diego Simeone and his men taking the silverware by only a few points.

After winning the league title, Athletic Madrid had to settle with the 3rd place during the 2014-15 season but the new and latest season has kicked off and Diego Simeone is feeling

“The biggest challenge for me is to be able to balance the characteristics of all the players. It is not easy to form a powerful squad. You need to be able to get the best out of everyone…that is why it is not unusual for a player here to go from watching in the stands to being in the side, or vice-versa. So my aim is to choose what is most positive for every game. I want to win the title with my squad once again” he said.

Diego Simeone has had a busy summer transfer window as he has added to his team: Jackson Martinez, Luciano Vietto, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco and Fillipe Luis all of which are expected to reinforce the squad and help the Spanish squad in their journey of regaining the title.

Even with all of these signings, it still remains unsure if Athletic Madrid has enough quality or talented players to compete against their main rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid but they have kicked off this new season in a positive form after a claiming a 1-0 triumph over Las Palmas in the opening match of the season and collected all 3 points.

Only 1 match has been played but Athletic Madrid have kicked off their campaign in a much better form than their rivals Real Madrid who sustained an underwhelming draw against Sporting Gijon.
