CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WILL FOLLOW

Manchester city defender and captain of the team Vincent Kompany has said that he is extremely confident that the club can lift the Champions League title in the coming seasons. The club recently won the Premier league title after 44 years. It has been already rumoured that Manchester City will be spending a lot in the summer transfer window in order to strengthen a number of positions so that they can challenge for the Champions League title next season. In the last two seasons, Manchester City have gone out of European competitions in extremely poor manner.

As a result, they will be looking to bring in some experienced players, who already have the experience of playing in the Champions League. They have already looked at the prospect of increasing the creativity within the squad by bringing Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard. However, they could not match the wages offered by European Champions Chelsea for the Belgian midfielder after the 21-year-old choose the London club over Manchester City. Yet, Vincent Kompany believes that he is confident that Manchester City can win the Champions League title this season. He has also said that he does not feel like leaving City in the near future.

“We can’t stop with the title. We want to win the Champions League. Is it possible in three to four years? Maybe not, but when I see what’s been achieved at the club in the last few years, nothing is impossible. I’m happy in Manchester. Lots of people want me to talk about moving but what interests me is Manchester City. The project here is not just a sporting one. It will bring a lot to the city and to the people,” said Vincent Kompany after lifting the Premier league title, which is his first major trophy with the club after signing for them back in 2008.
