KOMPANY RULED OUT

Vincent Kompany will not be able to play for Manchester City in the upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool which is going to be played tomorrow. The manager of Manchester City, Roberto Mancini, gave this information to the reporters today.

Kompany had injured himself in the FA Cup match against Stoke City which was played on 26th of January. He had to leave the ground after 40 minutes because of calf strain. He was limping while coming out of the ground. Because of that injury, he also missed City’s last match against Queens Park Rangers.

Talking to the reporters ahead of the match against Liverpool, Mancini said, “Vinny will not be playing tomorrow. He has still not got rid of that calf strain and I think he will miss a few more games.”

“He is the skipper and a very important player of the side. So, we obviously want him to return as soon as possible. But, we don’t him to make a comeback prematurely and get injured again.”

“I am afraid he might have to miss the FA Cup match against Leeds as well.”

City will take on Leeds United at St. Mary’s Stadium on 17th of February.

Liverpool’s performance in the Premier League in this season has been pretty inconsistent and the Reds haven’t yet defeated a top team in the ongoing League so far. But, in their last match, they stopped Arsenal to a draw.

When asked about the performance of Liverpool in the season so far, Mancini said, “Yes, they have underperformed a bit in this season, but, they are a very good unit and they have played well of late. So, we will have to play really well to pull off a win in tomorrow’s game.”
