Kompany Scores Own Goals
Vincent Kompany might be the undisputed defender for Premier League yet his stellar reputation is under the scanner given his couple of own goals against a Fulham match this Saturday. The Manchester City defender was seemingly devastated at his loss of control and to add the injury he even ended up bloodied with the termination of the match.
However, Manchester City managed to bag a win despite the bizarre antics from one of the most trusted players of the squad. Kompany gave his team a good 2-0 lead in the match against Fulham while the defender tapped in rebound in forty-third minute. That was that 1st goal of match & the season yet there was something more to find for this halftime hero.
As Manchester City was at the 2-1 lead in the seventieth time, Vincent struck once again. The sole issue here was that the City defender scored the goal against own squad. Sascha Riether from Fulham sent an apparently innocuous cross into City penalty zone & Kompany was the first to arrive. Albeit the Manchester City spearhead tried eliminating whatever little danger posed by Riether’s pass yet the man shanked the clearance pretty horribly. In spite of facing sideline, the City defender could somehow manage to kick off the ball back, spinning it over the club goalkeeper’s (Joe Hart) head & into goal. .
It was Jesus Navas, the very aptly name Manchester City Winger, who ease the game for the squad, getting a little bit of relief especially for a devastated Kompany. Even though Navas was not able to manage and save the defender’s own goal in the match, yet he came up with a score in seventy-eighth minute of the match that decided the win for Manchester City. James Milner finally scored in 83rd minute and sealed the match for the City squad with a fantastic 4-2 win.
