Vincent Kompany Biography
The international team Manchester City today would not have been an idol team for many fans if it had not been for the promising players that this team posses. Vincent Kompany is one of Manchester City’s priced possessions. He is a Belgian football player who was born in the year 1986 on the 10th of April in a place called Uccle. Along with playing for Manchester City he also plays for the Belgium National Team. He belongs to a partial Congolese ancestry and has the efficient skills to play both defensive midfielder as well as center back.
Vincent Kompany’s professional career in football kicked in at Anderlecht where he spent three of his quality years at the Belgian club, using his opportunities in polishing his skills. Here Vincent also achieved a number awards which included the Belgian Ebony Shoe as well as the Belgian Golden Shoe. Back then he wore the number twenty seven on his jersey. In the year2006 he moved on to Hamburger SV which was a German club to gain some more quality experience. On the 9th of June it was somehow announced that Vincent was going to replace Daniel Van Buyten that too for a fee of ten million Euros.
As a player of Hamburg Vincent Kompany made his first debut season in the Bundesliga, he played six matches as a start for the club after which he suffered an Achilles injury due to which he had no other option but to rule out himself from the rest of the season in the month of November. Inspite of hardly being involved with the season he still made it through the selection of 30-man provisional squad for the under-21 Football Championship of UEFA European in the year 2007, due to his expertise performance in the former matches of that season.
In the year 2008 after he turned twenty two, in the summers he took his final transfer to Manchester City which is presently his current Premier League club. The club of Manchester City made their confirmation about Vincent’s transfer from Hamburg on the 22nd of August 2008 on a contract of four-year deal and for a fee that was not disclosed publicly, but informally it was learnt that the fee was about six million pounds. The manager of the club Mark Hughes handed him with a jersey having the number thirty three on it which Vincent wore for the entire season of 2008 – 2009.
On the 28th of September of that season Vincent Kompany had made his first goal against Wigan Athletic and defeating them for a score of 2-1. In the year 2008 again, on the 28th of December he started the game at Ewood Park as a midfielder while playing against Blackburn Rovers. He stayed throughout the entire ninety minutes game and ended the match in draw with a score of two all. Vincent signed a new five-year deal with the club Manchester Untied on 19th October in the year which has promised his stay with the club until the year 2014.
