Kompany Positive City Can Win League

Vincent Kompany, the Manchester City captain, doesn’t believe that getting to the Premier League title in the ongoing season is an impossible task for his team. He did admit that it’s very, very difficult, but, at the same time, he also said that it’s not out of reach.

City currently stands at the 3rd position in the league points table, 6 points behind the table toppers Liverpool, while, 1 point behind the no. 2 Chelsea, but, the difference is that the Sky Blues have played one game lesser than both their rivals mentioned above and thus, they have a clear chance to go to the 2nd position with a win in the next game and then they will have to hope that Liverpool puts up a couple of bad performances to lose points.

There are some permutations and combinations. There is no doubt about that. Everything is not in control of City, but, they are in with a chance and they know that funny things do happen in the closing stages of the league.

Manchester City was actually going neck and neck with Liverpool in terms of points a few weeks back, but, when these two teams took each other on, the Reds emerged out victorious by 3-2 and then, in their very next match, City dropped a couple of more points by playing a draw against the weak Sunderland.

After that match against Sunderland, Manuel Pellegrini, the man in charge at Etihad, had said that the team had still not got rid of the disappointment of that heartbreaking lose against Liverpool, but, the way Manchester City played against West Bromwich Albion yesterday, it seems that they have pulled up their socks again and are ready to take the battle down to the wire.
