KOMPANY REJECTS TALK

The Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has rejected the speculation that the players are not happy with the manager Roberto Mancini. There have been a lot of speculation is that the senior players are not completely happy with the way Roberto Mancini has handled things this season. The Italian helped Manchester City lift the Premier league title for the first time in 44 years. However, City have not performed well in the European competitions under Roberto Mancini and they were once again poor in the 3-1 defeat against Ajax. This result has almost put them on the brink of elimination from the Champions league.

Mancini made a number of tactical changes during the match that seemed to affect the players and the understanding of the game. The defender Micah Richards openly stated that the manager should not be making so many changes because the players are not comfortable. Mancini replied with the statement saying that the players will be able to adapt into any system. This has led to many media claiming that the senior players at the club are not totally happy with the way Mancini is performing this season, but the captain Vincent Kompany has backed underfire manager by saying that they have total faith in the Italian.

“The stories are based on things I can’t relate to and I’m in this team. As much as I set out in my career to be the best footballer, I would expect journalists to want to tell the truth, and do the job for that reason. It’s part of the game, and I accept that part of the game. I just wonder where the integrity of some journalists stands when they come out with stories with no foundation whatsoever,” said Vincent Kompany after the match against Ajax in the Champions league.
