MAN UNITED GET BOOST FOR TRANSFER TARGET

Manchester United have received a massive boost in the pursuit of Leicester City defender Harry Maguire. According to reports in England United have become favourites for the player after rivals Manchester City pulled out of the transfer.

Manchester City had been in negotiations with Leicester for Maguire as a replacement for former captain Vincent Kompany.  However Manchester City are of the opinion that Leicester are pricing the player at an unrealistic range.

The Sun claims that Leicester City are willing to sell the player but have placed the valuation of the player at £85 million. This price is thought to be placed by the club as they don’t want to lose the player this summer.

United have enjoyed a positive summer so far making the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Swansea and Crystal Palace respectively.

The club is thought to be closing in on a deal on the Leicester defender and is ready to pay £70 million for the player.  However it is not known whether Leicester would be willing to sanction a deal for that price.

Maguire is a quality player that would transform United’s backline if he makes the move to the club.

Strong aerially and equally gifted with the ball at his feet, Maguire would be expected to bring a transformative effect to the defence similar to that of Van Dirk in Liverpool.

Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as they seek to bring a marquee signing that can transform the defense.  Between Koulibaly and Maguire it is difficult to point which of the two players would have a better impact for the club.

United fans would be hoping that the club can bring one of the players this summer as they look ahead to a new season.
