Kompany might be sold

There are media reports that Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is angry with his defender Vincent Kompany after the latter has picked up yet another injury.

The defender who has only just recently returned from injury has been injured again while on international duty, and the former Barcelona manager appears to be frustrated with the defender.

Pep Guardiola is furious that the player played the whole match and will not be missing the Champions League game. He believes that the player should have played only a part of the game and insisted on being substituted.

It increasingly appears that Vincent Kompany will be sold in the next transfer window with Tony Alderweireld his replacement. The latter has apparently asked for a substantial wage increase from Tottenham Hotspurs and should be open to a move to Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola is aware that his defence requires strengthening and has invested massively in new players during the transfer window. But he was counting on Vincent Kompany to be the foundation of his new defence, but unfortunately, the player has spent more time on the bench recently due to injuries. GUARDIOLA DON’T WORK WITH PEOPLE LIKE NASRI

Zlatan Ibrahimovic once said it was like a group of school kids taking summer lessons from an old headmaster when queried on what the atmosphere of working with current City Coach Pep Guardiola was like.

Despite overseeing perhaps the most dominant era exhibited by a particular club in recent times, Guardiola never found it easy working with ego-massage-needing players. From falling out with Ronaldinho and then subsequently almost every big name that later joined the side reportedly against the better judgment of the Catalan-born coach.

At Manchester City, given the recruitment policy that makes them appear in the full image of the money bag they are, chances of the Spaniard clashing with alter-egos was inevitable.

Although Yaya Toure, who he reportedly never liked while at Barcelona, seemed to have reignited the silent hostility of few years ago, later appearances of the Ivorian in most of The Citizens’ starting line-up seems suggests they patched things up. GUARDIOLA: VINCENT KOMPANY ASKED TO BE REPLACED

The boss man at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has said that replacing Vincent Kompany at halftime in the game against Manchester United came on the heels of the player’s request that he should be changed.

The game saw Manchester City defeated by Manchester United by a goal to nil. Kompany had complained that he was tired which had led to his change in the match.

The 30 year old defender had made his second start this season in this match after coming off from a groin strain sometime in September.

“He told us he is tired and was not ready to play the second half. The important thing is he is not injured – that is a good step.” Guardiola said.

Recent seasons have seen Kompany struggle with shin and calf injuries but the captain of Guardiola’s side has promised to be entirely honest with the medical staff in respect to any injuries he sustains. Continue reading GUARDIOLA: VINCENT KOMPANY ASKED TO BE REPLACED

VINCENT KOMPANY’S SPOT SAFE IN CITY’S SQUAD

When the announcement of Pep Guardiola was made, many thought there would be an immediate sweep of players from the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Spanish coach has taken his time to study the team before making his decisions.

Joe Hart is likely going to be heading out of the club, after losing his number one status as goal keeper to another. City completed the signing of former Barcelona player Claudio Bravo as replacement for Hart. With the England international getting what seems like a farewell when he featured in the Champions League play-off, he may as well have played his last. The club is reported to be willing to play as much as three-quarter of his salary to help any club interested in accepting him on a loan deal. Willy Caballero would play second fiddle to Bravo, forcing Hart to look elsewhere for regular action.

Several clubs have been linked with the player, with Sunderland being among the interested parties since losing Vito Mannone to long term injury. Hart’s wages is £120,000 per week, so City are willing to help out any side that want him as the transfer deadline is running to a close in a matter of days.

Athletic Madrid’s is eager on regaining the La Liga title

On May of 2014, Diego Simeone and his squad shocked the world of football as they snatched the Spanish League title and took it away from Real Madrid as well as Barcelona. This was a huge accomplishment taking into consideration that Lionel Messi and C.Ronaldo were the players who were expected to lead their respective teams to success but it was Athletic Madrid which managed to arrive and snatch it up.

Athletic Madrid lifted the Spanish League title during the 2013-14 by having 3 more points than their rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona in what was a very exciting and thrilling season which concluded with Diego Simeone and his men taking the silverware by only a few points.

After winning the league title, Athletic Madrid had to settle with the 3rd place during the 2014-15 season but the new and latest season has kicked off and Diego Simeone is feeling

“The biggest challenge for me is to be able to balance the characteristics of all the players. It is not easy to form a powerful squad. You need to be able to get the best out of everyone…that is why it is not unusual for a player here to go from watching in the stands to being in the side, or vice-versa. So my aim is to choose what is most positive for every game. I want to win the title with my squad once again” he said. Continue reading Athletic Madrid’s is eager on regaining the La Liga title

Vincent Kompany is confident that Manchester City will make some two or three world-class signings

After finishing last season without any major title, defender Vincent Kompany is confident that Manchester City will make some two or three world-class signings in this transfer window in order to reclaim the title once again.

Since UEFA has lifted a number of the FFP regulations, City are free to spend as they please in this transfer window. They have already shown their ambition by making a £ 40 million offer for Raheem Sterling, while more English players are expected to arrive in order to compensate for the loss of players like James Milner and Frank Lampard.

Kompany had a disappointing season last time around by his high standards. The Belgian defender is keen to address this issue and he hopes that the niggling injuries that he faced last season are beyond him. As he enters into his 30s, Kompany will know that staying injury free is not a luxury but a necessity if he is to prolong his career as a top defender. City have never won back-to-back league titles, but they also come back with a vengeance after just losing one. This was a case during the 2013-14 season and Kompany reckons that the blues can repeat it once again. Vincent Kompany gets disheartened in Premier League

Chelsea might be getting too far ahead in the Premier League title race, but, the Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has not got disheartened at all.

The Belgian is taking heart from the fact that City has come from behind and overtaken the table leaders to win the league a couple of times in the recent years.

He is quite confident that his boys can do it again.

The previous season, Liverpool had 9 points more than City with just three weeks remaining in the season.

The Sky Blues turned it all around from that position. So, they have every right to believe that they can nullify this 5-point lead of Chelsea as well. Continue reading Vincent Kompany gets disheartened in Premier League
